Renee Crotts’ debut novel, What Stirs Beneath, blends atmospheric realism with themes of grief, memory, healing, and human connection in a haunting coastal setting. The story explores emotional truth, resilience, and the lingering effects of trauma and emotional memory across generations.
She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in Communication, with a professional background in healthcare communications. In addition to writing fiction and children’s books, she is trained in trauma-informed wellness coaching and interested in the ways unresolved emotional pain, unconscious conditioning, and behavioral patterns shape identity, relationships, and human connection.
She lives in New Jersey, where she writes and paints near the coast and enjoys time with her dogs.
